Project Overview
Turning a simple 1080 sqft one-storey building into a 2564 sqft cottage retreat was challenging. The clients loved their existing cottage, but wanted more room for family and friends to enjoy the space with them for years to come. They hoped to keep as much of the existing building as possible for nostalgia and potential cost savings. The entire design and drawings were based on that concept. However, after starting the project and discussing options with their builder, they decided to keep only the existing foundation. The drawings required minor revisions. The original cottage was sold and moved to another site. It is currently being enjoyed by another family.
